IP Cameras

IP cameras or network cameras are cameras that transmit their information over a network connection rather than via Coaxial cable. Network cameras have several advantages over old style all analog cameras:
Access: As open or closed access as needed. Remote access to live images and remote administration of a network camera are possible from anywhere using a standard Web browser on any PC.
Ease of use: You can administer and view the images remotely using a standard Web browser on any PC.
Quality: Images can be recorded on a hard disk, enabling easy search possibilities, easy storage and no image degradation or wear. The hard disk can be located at a remote location for security purposes.
Installation: Simply connect a network camera to the nearest network connection and assign an IP address.
Cabling: One standard Cat-5 network cable can forward images from hundreds of network cameras simultaneously.
Scalability: Adding more network cameras to the system is easy. All you need is an open network port and a license for the Video Management Software
Flexibility: IP Cameras are available with resolutions from 420 lines (about .4 Megapixel) up to HD cameras over 1 Megapixel and higher.
Cost: When considered in total, IP cameras usually more cost effective than equivalent analog cameras. The higher initial costs of a network camera are usually offset by eliminating the need for special Coaxial cable and digitizer boards for analog cameras.
