Brief History
About Us:
In 1989, Dan Halverson created TBC quite literally the day after he graduated High School. Between the years 1989 and 1994, TBC was kind of a side job while farming and going to school. It wasn't until 1994 that he became more focused and started looking at becoming an Internet Service Provider. In 1995, in the basement of his apartment building, Dan got his first customers dialing up into 4 external US Robotics modems. As business started picking up, Dan brought on Cohen Barnes for website development and Internet Support. Subscribers continued to grow and so did the size of the company. After a couple more hires, TBC moved out of the basement in 1997 and into the Barnaby Business Center where it remains today and occupies about 6,000 square feet of office space.
From 1997 and through 2006, TBC grew to about 20 employees and had diversified its service offering a multitude of Internet Connections to the residential and business community, became a hardware manufacturer of laptops, workstations, and servers, and also started growing the consulting side of the business. Beginning in 2007, some serious changes started happening. A change in focus to the consulting side of the business began to happen. Companies in our industry have always been in reactionary mode when it came to managing the technology for our customers. In 2007, TBC started focusing on becoming more proactive in our IT management offering by bringing to market a new service ProactiveIT which monitors and maintains our customers systems programmatically greatly reducing the amount of downtime our customer's had previously been experiencing. Also in 2007, TBC ceased being a hardware manufacturer and formed a partnership with HP and began selling HP laptops, workstations, and servers with great success.
